I have 16" XPCs on my ML430. My wife has 18" XPCs on her X5. They are definitely snow tires. They are what Michelin rates highest for SUV snow tires. The best deal around for them that I found was from TireRack. It is unclear whether Michelin is actually still making the tires, or whether they are depleting old stock...

They are rated 440, Traction A, Temperture B, Speed H, Load 109H.

The tread is very aggressive, the road noise is not as quiet as the stock Energy's but not as bad as other snow tires that we have had. Handling change was neutral - but we moved up from 17" tires.

MUCH better snow traction than the Energy's, and they have tested better than any other SUV snow tire.

Now, why does BMW put car tires on their SAV?

Cheers,
Todd.
