On my Soapbox:
Like a black-only dashboard surface and steering wheel, like black-only rubber floor mats, like grey-only seat saver seat covers, like black exhaust tips (a color-choice instead of rust?). Is black still Euro-look? Is that still cool, or is it a design feature left over from the 70's? I wish they would offer more choices. I really find it funny that the black headliner is regarded as such a special part of the sport package. That was one reason I didn't get the SP. I thought it was too dark and coffin-like, particularly with an ALL BLACK interior.

Shouldn't they offer some customer choice in these matters, or is their something about black and BMW that I miss?

Enough interior-designer comments! Outstanding vehicle, and these things didn't affect my decision to buy an X5 because they are not too important, but I just don't understand this black thing.

OK, let me have it!

I agree. They say the black dash is for less reflection from the glass. I think it is a cost saving measure, as the black wheel. The black exhaust looks kewl though. Ryno X5 3.0
