Does anyone have the impression that when your dealer wants to fix something, he feels pressure from BMWNA, direct or otherwise, not to -- this to keep factory-paid repair costs to a minimum? I am not saying that I know this to be true, but my experiences are beginning to feel that way. Comments would be appreciated. (This would be similar to HMOs rewarding doctors for keeping patient care costs down by treating less.)

My personal experiences have led me to think just the opposite of what you are saying. My dealer has been overly generous. They gave me a compensator for the phone and whenever I mention that anything may be wrong they fix it without me even asking.
Serge
