My dealer told me that BMWNA pressures them to not fix anything that they can't duplicate, so if you have an intermittent problem, too bad. Also, even if something shows up on the diagnostic computer, they still have to duplicate it or BMW won't cover it. And if they find the problem but the part is deemed not to be defective, they still can't fix it. Too many things wrong to go into here, but I have reached the conclusion that my dealer is a big part of the problem -- although the factory rep has made things worse, not better. According to lots of guys here, they get things fixed easily. From my experience, that would be despite pressure from BMWNA, making those dealers truly customer-oriented. Time for a new dealer.
