I wasn't going to respond but I can't help myself. Yes, the 5 series started showing up with a larger Navi mid-year of 2000. Yes, there is a *rumor* of the X5's at SOME POINT going over to the larger screen. Yes, the 16:9 screen also has a faster CD-ROM player in it (rumor is 4x speed vs. 2x in the orginal). Yes, it takes the same maps (meaning the maps have not changed). No, you will not be able to get more info on things like restuarant info. Yes, it will be as inaccurate in rural areas as the orginal.

Now for my $0.02, unless you can see it, touch it, taste it, I would not bet on Jan. builds having it. I have been waiting almost 8 weeks to take delivery of mine (and the waiting is killing me)and if it comes with the larger screen (like my dealer has sworn) - great. If not - then guess what, I have my AMAZING X5 with a smaller screen.

To think that people would delay their X5 delivery til April or beyond is silly to me at this point given the current wait patterns. Hell, by then you could start getting on the wait list for the increased horsepower rumor...

Flame-suit on and engaged
