Even if MB & BMW keep upgrading their phone models they are all still proprietary programed and become obsolete and uninsurable.

Every 6,8, TO 12 months a newer better cooler phone comes out and none of them would interface with my X5 4.4 controls, so why bother.

Some day MB & BMW might realize that when the customer pays $50k plus they should be able to use whatever phone they have to interface with the hands free I already paid for???

For now it's just plain greedy and over priced.

Does anyone know when BMW will be issuing the new V (vulcan) series phone by Motorola? Motorola will be replacing the Star Tacs with this new phone. I already bought one and I enjoy it much better than the star tacs. It's smaller and easier to use! I just don't want to buy my X5 yet until I know that it will come with the new phone. Any info anyone?
