How does one get the front window defogger to work at less than full tilt? Whenever I turn it on it blows uncomfortable amounts of hot air full tilt and I have not divined how to lessen the airflow-everything I try turns it off completely.

Separately, I nervously took my very winter-dirty Titanium X5 3.0 to a brushless car wash today. I like to wash it myself but the weather has been uncooperativeg. The wash was pretty good, not perfect, but most importantly there was no noticeable harm to the car. Afterwards I spot cleaned some of the nooks and crannies. I was surprised how clean the engine and other under the hood areas were after just a little less than 2500 miles. It looked almost new.

Distressingly I found some dings and scratches and one pretty deep scar, each of which was had torn away the paint and were located on the rear bumper that could not be from the wash and which I had not noticed before. I have the PDC and the guys in my garage are pretty careful so it could be from just about anything from rocks kicking up to others bumping me when I am parked in NYC. Anyway, I may try to post a picture, but in any event I would like to hear from any of you if you have seen similar damage and to solicit views on what the best fix for this is and if there is any clear coat protection for it like others have used on the front hood.

Thanks.
