I have sport seats in my 3.0 sport X5 and standard seats in my 530i. I prefer the sport seats since they are not as "cushy" and give me more support especially when I'm aggressively driving the X5. The X sport seats are supposedly wider than the sport seats in the 5 series(which I've always found tight and uncomfortable). I noticed the thigh side support on the sport seats the first day or so and now I don't notice them at all (I'm 5'11" and 180 lbs). My only complaint with the X sport seats - you need to be carefull getting in them since sport seats were kind of made to "slide down into", whereas in the X5, you enter the seats lateraly. If not carefull, you can catch your privates on the hard side of the thigh riser. It only takes doing this once to learn your lesson.Good luck with you X5 - it's an awesome ride (even though I've had way too many minor problems in the first 500 miles).
Does anyone have an opinion on the X5 sports seats vs the standard seats?
I'm in the process of ordering an X5 4.4i w/ the sport package and the activity package. I am not sure if I should go with the sports seats or the standard seats + lumbar?
