It appears that 10 X5s with the navigation system may have a problem with AM radio reception as the result of an incorrect wiring harness having been installed. This would have resulted in no power being provided to the audio antenna amplifier.

If you have an X5 4.4i with the navigation system and one of the following chassis serial numbers you should check with your nearest BMW Center.

LH11278, LH11309, LH11310, LH11321, LH11332, LH11333, LH11345, LH11349, and LH11358.

It appears that there is only one X5 3.0i with the navigation system that is also possibly affected. It is chassis number LM70612.

The vehicles involved were produced between July 18 and October 2, 2000.

Hope this helps.

Doesn't apply to my car, but thank you for supplying succinct and valubable info since i've come on to this board. You and many of the other people who participate here contribute mechanical advice which has answered many questions about my car. Equally impt, some have the ability to convey a sense of humour with the written word-sometimes with just 1 word...very entertaining
