In Reply to: Is 3.0 Sport ride anything like 4.4 sport ride? posted by Wanting an X5 on January 14, 2001 at 21:58:22:

I don't really have access to an X5 to test drive (the dealership nearest me only has 1 4.4 no sport in the showroom) and as I have heard, the 4.4 sport has a kind of harsh and I was wondering if a 3.0 sport has the same kind of harsh ride.
Any and all help appreciated.

... that the sport suspension set-up is the same in the 3.0 and 4.4. The one difference - and it's not insignificant - is the 19" wheels on the 4.4. The ride harshness is more acute in the 4.4 due to the tires. I suspect the 3.0 rides better because of the 18's but may not have the cornering power of the 19s.
