Are the locks frozen or something else? (archive)

I've not experienced any locking in weather that's been down to 3-4 degrees. Is this the locks freezing, or something electrical? If the former, is moisture somehow involved? I've seen frozen locks and even doors frozen solid after ice storms, but just freezing up like that on its own is worrisome.
