hmmm you may be right but i don't think X5 adjusts the noise level according to the drivers driving style.. something is weird.

The ATC computer may have been reset to default settings during your recent reprogram, losing the adaptive learning of your driving style. The car could have felt sluggish, etc until it re-learned your driving style and optimzed the settings for you.
