Personally I think that it sucks that you've had these experiences. As a white guy I can't say that I've had the same experience, but as a young white guy with a beard who often wears t-shirts and jeans, I often get a similar treatment.

I can't say it without sounding like an ass, but it really pisses me off when a salesperson passes me by for someone who I know has less money to spend than I do. I guess I'd get more "respect" if I shaved, got my hair cut, and wore a freaking coat and tie, but that's a bunch of BS. If I ever have sales people or other customer-facing employees reporting to me, I'll fire their sorry asses in a heartbeat if I ever find out that they're behaving in such a manner.

And please, anyone of you who want to lecture me about this just being the way things are, don't bother. It's a load of crap, and if you think that it's not then it says a lot about you. A BMW dealer or anyone else who "profiles" someone is no better than the white supremacists, neo-Nazis, and police who engage in this practice.
