Go to www.bmwwireless.com (a proprietary site for BMW Centers), type in username: "bmwna"; password: "digital", and many of your questions will be addressed, some of which you won't like the answers to. Unless plans and/or information change to the contrary, you may be out of luck for a phone altogether, particualarly if your X was produced before October 2000 (FAQ section of the site). I personally find this situation extremely annoying,frustrating and frankly a load of BS, especially in light of the fact that I took delivery of q September 2000 vehicle (great timing), with the understanding that a phone system would be forthcoming.
