I do not mean to suggest that these tires provide piece of mind in any winter condition. I just pointed out my experience which was gauged with careful winter driving habits under extreem winter conditions. My point was to test, experiment, with my vehicles configuration to gather a deeper understanding of its limitations. This I achieved. If I lived in Tahoe full time, this vehicle would not be my 1st choice. However for my usage, ocassion trips to the mountains, where weather conditions can change dramatically, I feel that I can comfortably egress myself through either US80 or HWY50 and do so safely under conditions where snow chains or 4X4 with snow tires are required.
