I was up at Big Bear after our last storm. The patrolman was checking for vehicle w/ chains or 4x4 w/ snow tires AND chains available in your vehicle. They let me through with my 18" all season tires on the 3.0. Make sure you carry chains in case they want to see it. Be prepared for stop & go traffic up and down the moutain. I can't wait to check out Mammoth next month.
