FWIW, Don't have it in my X5, but my 300ZX has inflating lumbar support. If I were to park it out in the hot sun with the t-top shades out and no shade in the windshield the air would expand slightly -- not a big deal. Naturally I avoided that situation.


We have read a few unhappy reports on this forum concerning the lumbar support option but have not seen any recent posts. Can anyone who ordered this option on the 2001 X5 3.0 non-sport comment good or bad on this option? Saw some posts concerning problems with lumbar support self-inflating in hot weather. We are considering ordering with the option (hadn't even considered there would be any issues with this option) but were concerned about some of the posts we read.
