I have the front CD player and have just fitted the rear 6 CD changer in the trunk. I bought the Alpine from my dealer ($460+tax)and fitted it myself. The only difference is that you may need a different fitting kit. You can get all the details in the BMW FAQs section.

Total time to fit was 15 minutes. I had to lift the floor and expose the spare tire in order to spot the connectors. Other than that the only problem was I dropped one of the nuts and it lodged somewhere I could not get at it. Fortunately, I had a spare and it went somewhere it does not rattle!

No-one should pay for dealer fitting (mine wanted $109) when it is so simple to fit.

Good luck. CAT

I have the premium sound with dsp without the nav.
can I still install the changer in the rear even though I have the single player in front. also where is the best place to buy a changer with the intall kit thanks mully
