This has happened to me twice. (4.4, 9/00) I don't know what triggered it and I don't know why/how it stopped. Not help, but at least you know yours isn't a completely isolated incident. In one case I may have shut off the engine with the turn signal on -- and I think the sidelights can be turned on when the engine is off. In neither case was I away from the car for more than ten minutes and the alarm had not sounded. ????
