My AM radio whine ws engine-speed related, not vehicle-speed related. When I brought it in for an oil change, they did the second "fix," replacing the antenna amp in the rear wing. It didn't help.
At last week's factory oil change, they installed the first fix, a large capacitor that goes under the hood, and now the whine is gone. It may need both items to fix the whine, & I think I got my dealer's last capacitor from stock.

BMW has discovered that a certain vin # run has a whine in the AM radio between 550 and 1220 Kh. This comes from the front left speed sensor and only happens while the car is in motion. A fix, on demand, is on the way. If you have other noises on the AM side, contact me by direct email. Good luck,
Serge
