VaV's X is very new (just over 100 miles) so I wasn't going to attack corners in his new baby like I do with mine. To come to the conclusions of my original post, I drove over some bumpy section of road including a railway crossing.

So in the short but sweet ride, I'd say there isn't as much difference as others have claimed. I am an enthusiastic driver though, so my preference is for a firm/crisp handling vehicle which the SP offers.

Another P.O.V is that many X5 drivers are new to the brand. BMW's offer far more road feel and handle better than the competition. The trade-off is that those used to soft vehicles think something is wrong. It is these people who shy away from the SP but, as I say, its not for everyone.
