My wife has the 3.0 non-sport and I don't find the suspension floaty. It's still firm enough that you don't want to not slow down going over speed bumps. I used to cruise over speed bumps in our previous two SUVs, a Pathfinder and a Montero. I will not do that again in the X5 unless I'm wearing a neck brace. Take it for a test drive, and you will see.

I have had 2 BMW's in the past (although it was quite a while ago!) I've been driving a 4 Runner for the past 3 years and am very tired of getting beaten around. Just scared the sport may be more firm than I want. Of course I would hope the non-sport would not be too floaty either (looking at a 3.0).
