I aggree.... one should be able to leave any modern car for much longer than a week and expect it to start again. Even an electronics laden one like the X5. I've left my gadget laden Corvette for 2.5 months and it's started when I've returned. Even GM has a system that kills power drain (shuts down all accessory power) if it detects that current flow with a car off may drain a battery to the point where a restart is not possible. It sounds like there is a problem with these cars that are draining their batteries.


I park my 99 328ic outside in the CT winter for more that 2 months and it starts up (just did last week). A car should be able to go more than 1 month - what if you go on vaction and leave your car in the airport lot. After a week it isn't going to start. That is rediculous.
