Is the bimmer flash still alive? (archive)

Back in the early and mid 70's, when the 2002 was "the car" we would flash our high beams whenever we saw an approaching 2002--kind of a "high-five" greeting. My last BMW was a '77 320i, so I've been out of the loop for the past 25 years. Most of you on this board were too young then or not even born yet!

Anyhow, just reminiscing about how we felt when we met another bimmer on the road. Nowadays, you'd probably get killed by road rage if you high-beam-flashed another driver! It's too bad this "tradition" has become a thing of the past.
