To sport or not is the biggest decision after to 3.0i or to 4.4 and you're the only one who can make that call. Here's the input I used to make my choice...

1. Drove both, rode in the back part way in each to judge the ride all around.

2. Looks. How's it shape up when combined with my choice of colors? Had to consider the dark headliner, different steering wheels, and those clear tails are nifty.

3. My roads. Out here we've got two seasons: pot-hole creation and pot-hole repair.

4. Weather. I can be looking at 60 degrees one day and 6" of snow the next, so do I want peformance tires AND winter tires or run around on Mud/Snows?

IMO one of the coolest things about the X5 is BMW giving each owner so many choices when configuring the vehicle. Heck, we could have a half dozen silver ones parked in a row and they'd all be a little different. I encourage you to evaluate both until you know.

I am considering buying the X5, but haven't been able to decide if I should get the sport package. I think the decision comes down to the wheels. I think the larger wheels
that come with sports package give the car a nicer look; however, for driving in the city (NYC) and snow the dealer recommended going with the "smaller" (no sports package) because it would give added comfort and better handling.

I would appreciate any input on this. Thanks in advance.
