Synching up with a computer these days isn't really an issue since virtually all modern Cameras have a USB. If data transfer is your biggiest concern one of the Sony Mavica Floppy based cameras would provide the easiest path. The draw back is that picture quality is limited since a floppy can only hold 1.44 MB. On current 3.3 MB camera's the best quality compressed images are about 1 MB each. I've gone through three digital cameras to date and have played with a number of others. I would reccomend the Nikon 990. It's got tremendous quality and has most of the tweaking features of a 35 mm SLR.
