I had that early on and it was driving me crazy. I pulled of the side of the road one day, shut off the engine, and then proceeded to slam my foot on the pedal over and over again until it stopped clicking. Whatever that damn thing was, I smashed it into submission. The pedal now has a proper American-car mushy feel and the added side-to-side motion makes it easier when I'm kicked back and need the pedal to be off to the side. Doh! April Fools! :-)
