Where can I get aftermarket running boards for a 3.0?

I called the dealer and was told BMW made some, but for the 4.4 only......Kinda weird right?
I figured if it fits the 4.4 it would fit the 3.0.
I have never seen it physically.

Thanks!
Daniel

I got the titanium running boards installed on my 3.0 back when I took delivery. There is a X5 accessory catalogue with several add-on options. Unfortunately my dealer only had the one copy.

The costs were $795 for parts + 428 for labor. It was quoted as a 5 hr job.

I was lucky enough to spot an X5 on a Oldsmobile use car lot(go figure) that had them installed.

It's definately not a job for the faint of heart. The main part of the boards attaches underneath the vehicle below the doors. But what's interesting is that there are additional Black body trim pieces that connect to either end of the main piece and follows up into each wheel well. It's a very clean look. I have a Titanium Silver 3.0, so they look like a custom job if you didn't know any better because the colors match so well. It probably would look pretty sharp on black also...not sure about the other colors.

Hope this helps.

JD
