X5 vs. Sedan (archive)

Is X5 really as comfortable a ride as sedan? Generally prefer ride of sedan but have new kid. Do i really need extra cargo room for (new) kid? Or can I suffice with sedan? (Don't like the station wagon - not ready for soccer mom/dad position yet
