The Multi Information Display (MID) encompasses controls for the audio system, multi-function clock, upgraded on-board computer, automatic ventilation system and available integrated BMW Cellular Phone System.

The upgraded on-board computer provides useful information for planning your trip. Features include an integrated auxiliary ventilation system, which provides effective air exchange inside the vehicle before you start driving, security function and separate display in the instrument cluster of:

• Two average fuel consumption values
• Current fuel consumption
• Average speed
• Estimated range (with current fuel level)
• Distance left to drive
• Time/date
• Outside temperature
• Two estimated arrival times


I have the OBC, but is it worth the extra bucks ? I didn't use it a lot...And I think X5 w/o OBC can get outside temp, estimated range, time/date too ! Am I right ?
