Not commenting on their usefulness, but two distinct features are that you can set the ventilation to come on at a preset time (say 15 minutes before you leave from work in the afternoon). The car will "cool down" prior to your arrival.

Also, you can enter a PIN number, and you car will not start without re-entering this number -- a security feature. When you attempt to start the car, it prompts you to enter the security code. After three wrong attempts, the alarm sounds for 30 seconds. If you forget the code, you have to disconnect the battery for two minutes, then turn on the ignition and a 10 minute countdown begins, then you can start the car and the code is erased.
