The little rubber cover for the button can get pushed in so far that it no longer works. Mine did this and I thought it was broken, but it was just stuck. Not a very good design, IMHO, and I don't see why a normal button wouldn't work as well or better. If you can't pull it out with your fingers, use the edge of a key, coin, etc.
