I have never had a ticket with it. The only ticket I got was over 5 years ago when I was driving another car for 3 days without my V1! The earliest model V1 can be upgraded to the current version and features for a price, and I have never had to buy a new one except the one time it was stolen. There may be some others that claim better range, but the V1 always alerts with plenty of warning (except when you are the first zapped with instant on). The visual and audible indicators are indespensible. I don't know how many times I have passed one radar, and it is still telling me there is another in front of me (with a bogie count of 2 and the rear arrow still lit but not flashing since it is not the current main threat). If you do not have this feature, you cannot be fully protected. There are rumors that V1 is working on a new model to match or beat the new, late entries from another company that currently have superior range. I will upgrade both of my V1s when it is available.
