Do you think it is feasible to get $3,000 off MSRP of a 55k X5?

It is on the lot and ready to go.

Depends on which part of the country you are in. I was in Irvine BMW (southern CA) the other day, they have 6-8 X5 4.4s (sport, non-sport, nav (old and new wide screen design), non-nav, etc. etc.). From you quote of $55k, looks like you're looking for the 8-cylinder models. Strange thing is they have only 1 3.0. Almost all the 4.4s are in black or T. Silver. At the end it comes down to how many the dealer already has on the lot. If the guy has quite a few, 2K should be do-able. 3k may be a stretch. You can try getting the dealer to throw in floor mats, cargo nets, and those things.
