My brother and I purchased our bimmers at the same time from the same dealer, and we got the best combined deal around (at the time). Of course, we still had to plead our case and negotiate strongly. If you have an ongoing relationship with the dealer, he should give you a very good deal if he wants to keep your business and future referrals. BUT, I would anticipate the 4.6 version to be a hot item, so you may have trouble getting anything substantially off sticker for it. For the 3.0 you should aim for about $2k over invoice.

As with most vehicles, you cannot recapture all of the cost of the options when you sell. So if you're concerned about resale, I would recommend getting only the options you truly want and not necessarily fully loading it.

I don't know the answers to the other questions.
