2002 in July, as ordering a 2001 in June. The 3.0s aren't as scarce as they once were. If you dealer has 3.0 and 4.4 X5s on the lot, he should be dealing. I could see a bigger discount for one on the lot, but ordering a new car that is not hard to get should be about the same, whether it is 2001 or 2002. I usually do this, and negotiate a discount off of the MRSP, whatever that ends up to be. If the price goes up, I still only get x dollars off of that price.
