Don't weld, get a Drawtite for about $100 (archive)

You can get a Drawtite Class 3 hitch (2" receiver)for about $100 and install it yourself in less than an hour. Available online at several sites. Save the original bolts, completely reversable installation without a trace at end of lease. Just don't trim the removable fascia (which is an optional step anyway). Check the archives, many have installed the Drawtite. Great step by step pictures are at the link below.
