I've never understood why they would do this, but my guess is that many people might opt for a 330xi wagon over an X5 3.0 if it were available. After seeing the performance numbers for a 330xi, I'd certainly consider it! Motor Trend reported a 0-60 time of 5.8 seconds, which is better than the 330i, X5 4.4, and probably close to what the 4.6HP will do! As for space, is the 3 wagon really that much smaller in the cargo area? I'd guess that the X5 would have an advantage in the passenger area.

Note that I'm not knocking the X5, but a 4wd wagon like that would be kick-ass!
