The gas at the bottom of the tank should have mixed and is not much different from the gas in a full tank, assuming it hasn't sat too long. The catalytic converter does not know how many miles you have left before running out of gas, and no extra wear will occur on this device. Also, I know of no damage that occurs to a catalytic converter by not passing gasses through it frequently, so where does this "don't let your BMW sit" comment come from. Of course, you shouldn't becuase it is fun to drive...but cat. converted damage? The manual clearly states what to use to clean your dashboard, wheels, and vehicle finish. Why dis you need to get one person at BMW's opinion on how to care for the car, when they have printed it in the manual. You really ought to read it sometime.
