Has anyone else with a Titan Silver X5 noticed all the exposed undercoat/primer in the regions of the driver/passenger door hinges, hood side gutters and underside, fuel filler door underside and many other places. It's disgusting, there's gray primer everywhere! I can't believe anyone with a dark color X5 has this problem it would be WAY TOO OBVIOUS.
Can those of you with Titan Silver run out and check the door hinge areas for driver/passenger and the hood side gutters/fuel flap area and let me know if they can also see the gray primer/undercoat?... It's VERY OBVIOUS in direct sunlight but is much tougher to detect in artificial light (maybe that's what BMW was banking on?!)You can run your finger along the hood sides (when it's open, it's the area that folds down on each side of the hood) and you'll feel the difference in the primer versus the paint on the top.
Also, can someone with a dark color also check and see if these areas have been painted properly or if they can also see the primer ?
I also have a Mercedes-Benz in silver, an Audi in Red and a SAAB convertible in Blue none of which expose the undercoat/primer anywhere, I can't believe BMW is doing this on their product, could it be true of European built vehicles also ?
Is BMW saving money on paint usage for Silver X5's ... To me this would be a major disappointment and let down with their product if it's true.
(sorry for the long post but I'd love to know if anyone else has noticed these things)
thanks
