I totally, totally agree on the sound of the door closing. I thought something was amiss but all the X5s on the lot sounded that way. Probably the single troublesome thing for me. The back doors don't sound that way. The only other choice is the MDX but that's a 6 cyl. I don't even consider the LX a competitor with its older design, truck origin, lower engineering value and popularity with the chrome and gold target market. The X5 was designed to be driven. IMO of course.



I test drove a X5 with SP package yesterday. Was impressed with performance and handling. I was extremely let down by the interior. We decided to replace our 1999 LX470 with a 2002 LX470. Sorry the quality just wasn't there for the money.
