While crossing the "Alligator", cruise was set for 100mph with bursts up to 120mph when safe. Truck was rock solid at those speeds and tracked very well. However I did notice quite a bit of wind drag that is not apparent in my M5. This would have more to do with the X5's higher profile in the wind and it was expected. It is, in the end, a truck. but it sure does not drive like one!
I had any number of SUV's trying to keep up. Even one Grand Prix. All were left behind (most likely since none were carrying radar protection and did not feel safe cruising at that speed). The Fords were smart enough not to even try!
