Unless a light comes on that requires you to stop, it is probably safe to drive, assuming driving without turn signals and lights is safe. It probably is being caused by the something completely unrelated to the symptoms you are experiencing, like the rear overhead light is boken. Wierd cars. I sometimes thing BMW has bought Lucas electronics since Jaguar left them out in the cold, because the quirky electronics are similar to 60's Jaguars.
