Ok, after the first 1000 miles, no major problems yet. The car has driven really good, it is pretty bouncy though and I don't want to test the DSC on curves. I was expecting a somewhat SUV ride but I don't mind feeling every bump or inconsistency in the road. (I don't have the Sport Package) Anyways, I experienced my first irritating problem, the good old passanger side mirror. Despite the fact it wouldn't return to normal after restarting the car and switching from reverse to drive to park etc. nothing happened until I finally just adjusted it with the controls. This isn't the most difficult problem of all time, but still I would rather it didn't happen. Second nusance is the whistling coming from the front driver side. I can't tell if it is from the wiper or the mirror but it is very annoying. I can stand wind noise, but this just drives me crazy. On a lighter note, I seem to have the "mystery package" that gives you the separate reading lights and mirror lights, yet I don't have the red lights in the door handles, even though I can clearly see that there is something there, (A light of some sort). Is it me, or is the sliding center console extremely difficult to slide, why do I have to yank it out and always pinch my hand agaisnt the parking brake? Finally, my brake pedal is a bit deformed, the lower portion is bent inward a bit- normal? So basically the first month or so has gone pretty good except for these things (and the other odd X5 quirks). To balance out my complaints, the car is very light through the first two gears and sports mode helps make up for a lack of acceleration at high speeds. Although I have yet to do any major off-roading, I do enjoy the ground clearance. And of course, how could I leave out, the styling. The X looks awesome, interior and exterior, if only black/beige wasn't so hard to keep clean. But still, I would like to iron out some of the afforementioned problems. Any and all help appreciated, thanks.
