Yes, I do know about 475/Black Sapphire

It's a metallic paint. It is actually more black than 303 Cosmos Metallic Black.

475 is a newer paint compared to Cosmos black and Jet Black. (It has become available for X5 in 2001)

I would say this is the "metallic version" of Jet Black. 475 is a very "fresh", "wet looking", "I think" the best looking black color.

There is a major drawback though. You need to keep the car very clean otherwise this paint looks very dirty. If you live in a "dusty or dirty" area, I would not suggest this color. Because it will show everything on the paint right away. Also, scrathes are very visible.
If you have a garage and if you keep the car clean then there is no problem. If the car is clean this color is really awesome....

Your welcome

:-)

Does anyone own a car in, or know about the color BLACK SAPPHIRE. Is it more of a dark gray rather than black?

Cheers

Scott
