Our mirror problem has nothing to do with backing up. When the car is unlocked with the remote key, even if it was the same driver with the same key who used the car last time, both mirrors move as soon as you press the unlock button. This is what Steve Green from BMWNA observed, and for which he said a software change was coming. That was many months ago. So far, no fix.
