They are a good size, not overbearing, but will provide good coverage. I will say that right after I put them on, I thought they looked somewhat odd. After I went on some errands and approached my X across the lot from a distance, they looked right at home! The rears still look a little goofy from low in the back, as the inboard edge has a funny taper to it. You don't notice this unless you know it is there and are looking for it. One install note: They attach to the plastic fender liners with a plastic rivet and screws (front) and an existing bolt and screws (rear). When studying how to tackle this, I came up with a hell of a brainstorm! You would have to remove the rear tires to drill the holes for the rears....too much work! I fired up the oxy-acetylene rig (I've always been one for overkill, a propane torch will work fine) and heated up the tip of a scratch awl and pushed 'er through the plastic. Instant screw hole! In the back, where clearance was a problem, I clamped one of the screws in a vise-grip and heated the screw. Worked great! Just be sure to use the tip of the awl, or the hole could melt too big for the screw. Sounds like a barbaric way to work on a BMW, but I figured it's no worse than what they're doing in South Carolina!
