My 2 cents worth...The current engine management computer has programmable software running it now. Dinan just changes the program. BMW changes the setting occassionally themselves sometimes to make corrections. There is no change in reliability or processing speed, and if you don't like it, you can always go back to factory settings. This is the easier, quicker, less invasive and labor intensive first solution. You can always do whatever else you want if you are still not satisfied, but I would sure wait until the warranty was up before I would fool with making a modification that may void your warranty
