I have also been looking at replacement halogen bulbs because of the yellow-ish color of the OEM daytime lights emit. PIAA (piaa.com) is one of the more reputable high=performance replacement bulb companies.

Keep in mind that there are Halogen and there are Xenon lights, but there are no Xenon-Halogen lights. Companies try to simply add the word "Xenon" to their products to make people think that they are getting Xenon lights. (They should actually call them Xenon-looking Halogens)Xenon lights require special hardware to ignite them by using ~25,000 volts. This is the reason why the Xenon lighting option costs $500.

The replacement bulbs you have been looking at are Halogen bulbs that have been tuned to emit whiter light that approaches the "look" of Xenon lights. There is absolutely NO problem in replacing your brights, provided you buy the correct bulb (9005):

X5 w/HID 2000-2001
Low Beam: n/a
High Beam: 9005
Fog Bulb: n/a
