they don't even know its a SAV!!!!! (archive)

A few weeks ago my wife went shopping at the Seattle Whole Foods market. On return to the X5 she found the following note:
"We have never seen or heard of anything so absurd as driving an off-road vehicle to a grocery store, especially an organic grocery store. Are you not aware of the damage you are doing to others and the environment? This damage, which YOU are doing, is WHY we must have organic grocery stored. Don't you get it?
Please walk, bus, or drive a car next time, and leave your SUV off the road.

--the Birds and Bees, the Air and Water, & your fellow food shoppers"

This makes me so mad I hardly know where to begin. Things that jump out:

1. The fact that they wouldn't actually sign the note
2. The theory that SUV's cause the need for organic grocery stores. Um... I thought that was because of pesticides?
3. The ignorance that this vehicle in particular, being ULEV, is probably cleaner burning than whatever eco-box they drive (and would prefer I drive).

Ugh. Help me craft a reply for when I actually catch these cowards wasting trees with their little notes.
